One of my coworkers is retiring
While I’m very happy for her, I have to admit that I’m extremely jealous too. She had a talk with her husband a few weeks ago and they decided that they were ready to start traveling sooner rather than later. He told her that he was going to go with or without her even though I’m sure he was only half-way joking.
He’s only 65 and he’s been retired for 2 years. He was on her insurance but he just qualified for Medicare. She’s only 60 but she has enough insurance to carry her until she turns 65 so insurance is no longer a reason for her to keep working. Now I’m ready to start looking for personalized gifts to give her as a retirement present. I want to make it something nice since this is such a huge milestone for her.
Her last day is at the end of November so I have time to shop around. But I want to find something soon because as fast as the summer went, I’m sure November will be here in a flash.
